COMING DECEMBER 2023
ADULT GOATS:
Nothing currently available
Periodically we may have older open (or even bred) does that we decide to remove from our breeding program. Also from time to time to maintain genetic diversity, we will offer our breeding bucks for sale. Please check back and see what we may have available.
It is a sad day for me when I find the need to rehome some of our adult stock...emotional attachments grow strong around here. However as a herd owner I do realize we can never grow and improve if we do not try and keep some of our "best and brightest" when they come along. When choosing to keep one or two from each kidding season, we do so knowing that we may have to find homes for some of our adult stock. If space and funds were unlimited, of course all goats would stay

We take $30 "pre-deposits" for approximately 3 male and 3 female pups from each litter. Beyond that we will still take names and numbers for those interested in a pup. As long as enough pups are born, placing a deposit will guarantee the gender of your choice and your place in line to choose. If not enough pups are born, we will happily refund your complete deposit. It also locks you into a known pricing. (Contact us for more details if interested as we do have a longer written out explanation of the process.)
A note on our selection process. When placing a deposit on a litter of pups you will know what gender you will be getting as well as how many puppies you will have to choose from. We allow buyers to choose in order of deposits received, but actual selection is not done until the day you pick up. Choosing a pup based on personality is much better than choosing a pup based on coloring alone.
Why should I buy my pup(s) from Cornerstone Acres Farm? (check out out "working dogs" page)
The above link outlines the support offered by us when you purchase one of our pups! If you are unable to access the link, you can also find the information on our Great Pyrenees page.
At the age of 49 days, we will be performing the Volhard PAT (Puppy Aptitude Test) to better guide you in the purchase of your puppy. We watch the puppies closely as they grow. This helps us also in determining personalities that are more predisposed to being a pet versus a working dog or working large acreage versus smaller acreage. We also ask that you fill out a short questionnaire when you send in your deposit so we may help match up puppies with your needs. Again the choice - at the time of pickup - is 100% up to you, we are here only to help guide you.
At this time we will not be offering shipping. However we may be able to meet you within a reasonable distance. (See our Sales policy below for mileage and charge info).
We are also here to support you and your puppy so that the transition from our farm to yours can go smoothly, happily and as uneventfully as possible. If you have questions about your growing LGD, we are here to offer suggestions and/or direct you to other knowledgeable LGD owners. Lifetime support also offered if for any reason at anytime your LGD or pet doesn't work out for you we will offer our assistance with placing him or her in a new home, even if that may mean taking them back into our own home.
Please check out our sales policy before committing to purchase a puppy.
See breed info and FAQ located on our Working Dog page.
We will be starting a new program here on the farm.
There seems to be a number of farm owners who either don't have the time or the knowledge to work with a puppy from the beginning. People who aren't able or willing to put some time and energy into a pups training are the biggest reason for failed LGDs. Pups in general require little actual training but owners do need to be available and willing to monitor a new puppy to keep any bad habits from forming. Pups should have basic skills to make handling them as an adult easier. With all this in mind we have decided to raise up a few pups specifically with the intention of offering them to working farms. I want them to be confident, experienced and well rounded dogs who leave here with their new owners.
AVAILABILITY: All pups are sold or spoken for at this time.
Pups will be available at 6 months, 12 months, 18 months and 24 months.
Pups will with all age appropriate vetting.
Pups will be intact unless deposit is received and new owner requests spay/neuter. Altering pups will only be offered for pups that are near 24 months of age.
Pups will be human/family socialized and will have experience with poultry, goats, sheep, pigs, cats, horses, other dogs and cattle. Species training may change depending on changes here at the farm, contact us at the time you are looking so we can let you know for sure. Age at time of purchase may also dictate what animals a pup has been exposed to.
Pups will have basic training in place (leash walking, sit, stay, here, no/leave it command).
There will be a money back guarantee offered (exact details pending).
Deposits can be made at any time. With a deposit we would be happy to utilize any name of your choosing and focus the pup on a species to fit your needs. Also, we would encourage your visits during the training process if possible.
Videos will be shared throughout the training process.
I am still working out the full details, but will update this as I put things together. Open to helpful suggestions.
Tentative pricing:
6 months - 900
12 months - 1200
18 months - 1750
24 months - 2500 (does not include spay/neuter)
For (an additional) $150 we can have DNA health testing sent off prior to purchase. 50% will be refunded if genetic disease testing comes back unfavorable. (Exact terms will be in writing prior to payment/testing.)
NOTE: Kunekune pigs can ONLY be registered by the breeder of the piglets. DNA testing of both parents and the piglet itself is required to verify parentage of every piglet to be registered. Please be cautious when looking for piglets and make sure registration papers are in hand prior to taking home your piglets. I have now seen quite a few new people get burned in this way. We generally will NOT register any piglets once they leave the farm so if you think you may want a registered pig(s) in the future please buy registered.

We will be offering both registered and some unregistered stock. Our registered pigs will be registered with the AKKPS and most will be eligble for dual registration with IKHR. Registered pigs will be microchipped for identification. Check out the Kunekune Piglet pages (look under the Kunekune page) for info on past, present and future litters.
